Whistle Policy
The requirement to carry whistles and / or waterproof clothing should be evaluated for each event, by the event Organiser and Controller, based upon the terrain, participants and time of year and any other relevant circumstances. It is mandatory that the risk assessments will include this and record why they are / are not required. If the decision for an event is that whistles and waterproofs are mandatory this must be policed – the Organiser and Controller are responsible for ensuring that a system for checking is in place.
