The next West Urban Midlands League event takes place at Malvern on Sunday 10th September. This is an urban area with plenty of variety – everything from parks, formal private gardens, sports grounds to common land and urban streets. Details are available on the Harlequins website. The closing date for lower fees is 3rd September so don’t delay, enter now through https://www.fabian4.co.uk/.
The next West Midlands League event takes place at Burton Dassett on Sunday 3rd September. The area offers good running on a compact but hilly open area with complex contours in the centre.
It is located between Banbury and Leamington Spa just a few km south of Junction 12 on the M40. More details are available on the Octavian Droobers website.
The closing date for pre-entry to guarantee a map on the course you want to run is this Sunday, so enter now through https://www.fabian4.co.uk/!
Entries are now open for this event, which is the first one in the West Midlands 2023 Urban League.

West Midlands Orienteering Association Schools Champs 2023
The WMOA Schools Champs took place on 13/5/23 at New Hall Valley Country Park Sutton Coldfield. The event was organised by the City of Birmingham Orienteering Club.
Children from 3 Primary, 12 Secondary Schools and a few home-schooled children took part.
Dave Ellis planned 7 interesting courses for the 10 age classes from Y5 to Y11+ and Adrian Bailey was the Controller of the event.
The Primary School Trophy was won this year by New Hall Primary School in Sutton Coldfield and the Secondary School Trophy was won by Discovery Academy.
The top 3 runners in each class were awarded medals and all participants received a certificate of attendance.
Many thanks to everyone who took part and helped organise a very successful and enjoyable event.

The League points have been updated after event four at Shoal Hill. Many, many thanks to Andrew Weaver (WRE) for taking over this role from Lesley Ross.
Wrekin have a slim lead over Harlequins, with Octavian Droobers some way behind. The League now has a break until the Autumn, when OD host two out of the remaining three events. Will this be enough for them the League again, or can Wrekin hold on?

The fourth event in this year’s West Midland League will be hosted by Walton Chasers at Shoal Hill, Cannock.
Entries in advance for league courses are via “Pre-entries” here in order to guarantee a map. The first closing date is Tuesday 11th April. Late entries (+£2) subject to map availability. There will be entry on the day for non-league courses, and also for league courses if there are any maps remaining.
