Wrekin make it two in a row
The WM League was cut short by storm Darragh and the postponement of the Brandon Woods event, depriving Harlequins and Octavian Droobers of one final shot at overhauling Wrekin. Rumour has it that this is the first time that they have won the league twice in a row; can they make that three in 2025?
Hopefully Brandon Wood can be rearranged and be an early event in next year’s league

New Years Day Score 2025
Standard Entry Closing date is Monday 16th December
The 2025 Laurie Bradley Trophy competition will be held on 1st January 2025, organised by Walton Chasers. The Trophy is awarded to the club winning a 60-minute score event held every New Year’s Day in memory of Laurie Bradley, one of the pioneers of orienteering in the region and organised by WMOA clubs in turn.
The competition is now in its 50th year. Come along and have a run or walk at midday on New Years Day – it’s a score format, so suitable for all abilities. Full details are on the WCH website, and the scoring details are here.
West Midlands League latest
Wrekin take a very narrow lead over Harlequins in to the final event of the season, on the 8th December at Brandon Wood. Octavian Droobers are some way back in third place but do have home advantage for this last event.

Orienteering Foundation Coaching Day
The Orienteering Foundation is pleased to announce support for another coaching day in the Lakes, on Saturday 23rd November 2024. They are particularly keen to promote coaching of adult orienteers, who are often under-served, but also welcome groups including juniors.
You can take part either as an individual or as part of a group which has provided their own coach.
